In-Class Color Schemes


Purpose:

To pay close attention to color through the use of specific color schemes;

To communicate different moods/feelings through color photography;

To create images that describe the Yarmouth Community Garden.


Your Goal:
  1. To photograph a variety of subjects that communicate one of the four color schemes: Primary, Secondary, Analogous, Complementary, and/or Monochromatic. Choose two strong images to upload to your blog;

Helpful Hints:
  • Ask yourself the following questions: What is my purpose? What am I trying to communicate?
  • Photograph each subject from at least three different perspectives. Remember use good compositional strategies.
  • What mood, feeling are you trying to portray? What point of view and color scheme is the most effective in communicating this?
