Ning Post Rubric

Ning post assignments will be given a Technical Grade and will be scored on a 4 level system:

Exceeds Standards

  • Posts are done on due date, in the correct place, and tagged with correct key words, when appropriate.
  • The post communicates the purpose of the assignment especially well, in a unique and innovative way.
  • The images are inserted, right side up; oriented the correct way.
  • The writing is outstanding; it is written in paragraph form, using at least 4 complete, thorough, and thoughtful sentences.
  • The writing completely and accurately reflects the work and addresses the assignment's purpose.

Meets Standards

  • Posts are done on due date, in the correct place, and tagged with correct key words, when appropriate.
  • The post communicates the purpose of the assignment.
  • The images are inserted, right side up; oriented the correct way.
  • The writing is done in paragraph form, using at least 4 complete and thoughtful sentences.
  • The writing reflects the work and addresses the assignment's purpose.

Partially Meets Standards

  • Post is submitted late, after the due date.
  • Key words are not used correctly.
  • It is difficult to tell that the post communicates the purpose of the assignment.
  • The post does not include all images required for the assignment.
  • The images are not inserted correctly: a vertical image is posted horizontally or vice-versa.
  • The writing is either not in paragraph form nor uses incomplete sentences, and is grammatically awkward.
  • The writing does not reflect the work and/or does not address the assignment's purpose.

Does Not Meet Standards

  • Students receive this grade for the following reasons:
  • Posts are submitted more than 2 weeks after the due date;
  • The assignment does not communicate the purpose of the assignment;
  • The writing is incomplete.

If the assignment is more than 3 weeks late, the highest possible grade is a 50.
